When you visit a national park, you’re excited to see the scenery, to bask in nature and to explore the unfamiliar. What you’re not hoping to experience? A lot of trash from previous visitors. Unfortunately, that happens. It’s estimated that over 100 million pounds of garbage is generated each year by visitors to national parks across the country. That’s a lot of garbage!

What did you think of the five tips to keep U.S. National Parks cleaner and reduce the trash produced? We liked Tip #4, to avoid using disposable coffee cups. Honestly, we think coffee tastes best when enjoyed from ceramic mugs and there are some great travel mugs now that use this material.
