Subaru Impreza

The Subaru Impreza stands apart from many competitors by offering standard all-wheel drive in a compact hatchback segment dominated by front-wheel-drive models. Vehicles equipped with the 2.0-liter BOXER® engine achieve EPA-estimated ratings of up to 29 mpg combined (27 city/33 highway), while the available 2.5-liter engine maintains the same 29 mpg combined estimate (26 city/33 highway).

In addition to efficiency, the Impreza provides everyday flexibility with up to 56 cubic feet of maximum cargo capacity when the rear seats are folded. Its hatchback design delivers utility similar to a crossover while remaining compact and easy to maneuver.

Subaru WRX

Although the Subaru WRX prioritizes performance, it still returns respectable fuel economy considering its turbocharged output, standard all-wheel drive system, and rally-inspired character. Models equipped with the six-speed manual transmission achieve up to 22 mpg combined (19 city/26 highway), while automatic-equipped variants return up to 21 mpg combined (18 city/25 highway).

Subaru BRZ

Unlike the rest of the Subaru lineup, the Subaru BRZ uses a rear-wheel-drive layout engineered around lightweight handling and responsive performance. Even so, it remains relatively efficient for a sports coupe.

The naturally aspirated 2.4-liter BOXER® engine produces 228 horsepower and pairs with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Manual-equipped variants achieve EPA-estimated ratings of up to 22 mpg combined (20 city/27 highway), while automatic models improve efficiency to as much as 25 mpg combined (21 city/30 highway).
