Forester Overview

The Forester slots in between the large three-row Subaru Ascent and the small Subaru Crosstrek. For the 2021 model, Subaru added automatic high beams and adaptive LED headlamps as standard features for all Subaru models. The Limited model now features a seven-speed manual mode. Another new feature is a rear center storage tray in all models, but the base model.

With an innovative all-wheel drive system, a bevy of standard driver-assist features, and all of the latest tech, the Forester makes the perfect rush hour companion for Middletown drivers.

Safety Features

All models feature standard EyeSight Driver Assist technology. The automaker estimates that EyeSight can reduce rear-end crashes by up to 85 percent. This suite of features monitors traffic and optimizes cruise control. It will always warn you when you drift off your lane and might even autonomously steer the car back to its lane if you fail to take action.

Also part of EyeSight is the Automatic Pre-Collision Braking feature that can automatically apply braking force in case of an emergency. Further, the car offers Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control that helps you with steering, throttle-control, and braking in daily traffic. The cruise control works with lane centering to keep you right where you need to be.

Another suite of safety features is the Subaru DriverFocus Distraction Monitoring Feature. This feature is similar to having a co-pilot who warns when you get distracted or drowsy. The feature further remembers up to five drivers and their preferences and can adjust the seat position, mirror position, and climate settings to meet the needs of the driver. DriverFocus is standard on the Touring model.

Other safety features include:

  • Blind-spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert, which is standard on the Sport, Limited, and Touring.
  • Rear vision camera that's standard on all models.
  • Reverse automatic braking that comes standard on Touring and optional for the Sport and Limited models.
  • Subaru StarLink Safety and Security system - this offers connected services to keep you and your car safe. It alerts the operator in case of an accident. You can also get STARLINK for personal assistance, including navigation, scheduling service appointments, and restaurant reservations.

STARLINK Multimedia

The new 2021 Subaru Forester is technologically advanced, allowing you to drive with so much convenience and luxury. The STARLINK Multimedia system brings a host of features such as Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® integration. These two features allow you to connect your smartphone to your SUV to access your favorite apps, news, navigation, and music among others. There is an eight-inch touchscreen on the dash through which you can control the infotainment system. The built-in voice-activated navigation allows you to find directions hands-free.

Spacious Interior

Inside the Forester are high quality soft-touch materials with contrast stitching to add to their beauty. The SUV seats five people and offers up to 111.9 cubic feet of passenger space. This is more room than its competitors the Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, and Toyota RAV4.

Behind the rear seats, the Forester offers up to 76.1 cubic feet of cargo space. It also comes with a wide rear gate that makes loading and unloading easy. There is an optional power rear gate that allows you to close and open the rear door and other doors by the touch of a button.

The 2021 Subaru Forester offers 8.7 inches of ground clearance, which allows it to venture off the road. Better yet, the car offers X-MODE coupled with Hill Descent to allow you to drive on different terrains and different weathers.  The X-MODE allows you to optimize the car to drive on snow, mud, and dirt. X-MODE is standard on Premium while the dual-function X-MODE is standard on all models above the Premium.
